We all hate change. What Would It Take to Launch a War With Iran? [Brig. Gen. John H.] Johns says a struggle is under way in Washington, D.C. Those opposed to an attack include Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and the entire Joint Chiefs of Staff. Those wanting an attack, he says, are the deputy national-security adviser for global democracy strategy, Elliott Abrams; Vice President Dick Cheney, “and the hard-line Israel lobby.” On Jan. 6 came an incident of Iranian speedboats zipping around U.S. Navy ships in a provocative way. It could have been another Gulf of Tonkin incident. In 1999, President Clinton conducted a 78-day air war against Serbia even though the House deadlocked 213-213 on a resolution supporting it, and the Senate never voted at all. Clinton didn’t care; his position was that he didn’t need permission for an air war. What matters is not only the Constitution; it is the outcry. Government does what it can get away with - and in the last year of the Bush presidency, it is still an open question how much that is. Do you remember the last time Mike Gravel appeared at a nationally televised Democratic "debate"? At that time Mike castigated Clinton II for her support of the Kyl-Lieberman resolution, labeling the Iranian military as terrorists and thus providing a hole in the Constitutional separation of powers big enough to bomb Iran through. We Americans are still in shock and awe at the depravity of our present regime, in vehement denial of what we have become. For it is we the people who allow the war crimes in the Middle East to continue. We the people who embrace the charming man behind the curtain who now sells a painless sort of "change" from the present repugnant reality, "change" that in fact miraculously allows things to continue exactly as they are. We all hate change. We all prefer to coast, to glide, to sleep walk through our nightmare. But we must awake, we must change our state, if we are prevent our "leaders" from stepping off the precipice we may all see clearly looming ahead. Mike Gravel can have ALL of our troops home by next Memorial Day. Mike Gravel can transform the world of paralyzing nightmare into one of willful wakefulness. Mike Gravel will jaw, jaw, jaw not war, war, war. Of course Mike can do nothing of the sort if we do not drop our cherished fantasies and work for his election, and thus for change. Change? or More Of The Same? Its one thing for a state to be murdering and/or oppressing others when their local public doesn't know about it... but it's another when the public knows about it and supports the injustices and crimes... In the first situation, the killing policy is vulnerable. If word gets out, the public might be angry. But in the second it is more stable, and deadly, since the public knows, and asks for more. McCain, Clinton, Obama = more of the same. You know it and I know it. Mike Gravel = an end to the killing. It's up to you and up to me. Disinformation flies as US raises Iran bar US "pre-emptive" diplomacy, aimed at preventing an IAEA "clean bill of health" that could derail Washington's effort for a new round of UN sanctions on Iran, is at full throttle - with the timely help of disinformation. Setting the bar unusually high, the US envoy at the IAEA, Gregory Schulte, has warned that unless Iran "confesses" about its "past work on weapons designs and weaponization and the role of the Iranian military", international efforts to resolve the nuclear standoff will be "doomed"... the new information pertains to data from the same "stolen laptop" that was the source of the previous information, which was termed unreliable at the time by, among others, David Albright, the president of the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) in Washington... a source close to the IAEA has called the US media reports "misleading" This criminal regime will never stop pushing for War. War against Iran, War anywhere in the global oil patch. Pre-emptive war to lay low anyone who might dream of resisting their cosmodemonic plans for world dominance. And the Obama-Hilton, I mean Obama-Clinton, twins are no different in substance from McCain. They differ only cosmetically. Full spectrum dominance of the big ticket alternatives in the US of A, that's what's on display. The domineers : Big Oil, Big War, Big Israel. And they never, ever, give up. They are like that storied, immortal breed from Transylvania. Look at Elliot Abrams. A convicted felon now a Deputy Secretary of State! We must drive stakes through their political hearts if we are ever to rid ourselves of their ravenous, blood-sucking curse. And who is left to champion the cause? There is but one anti-war candidate left and his name is Mike Gravel. I wish Mike would make his anti-war credentials a more visible signature in his political profile. We the sheeple are in desperate denial, chasing the will'o'the wisp into the swamp. The War is the most important issue in America today. It was yesterday. And it will be tomorrow. Mike Gravel will have ALL our troops home before Memorial Day 2009. Period. Done. Over. Apparently it's very hard for we the sheeple to deal with unequivocal statements. Ah but we treasure, hold close to our hearts, the bald-faced lie! Mike Gravel is The Anti-War Candidate. When the War is over in June we will push for the NI4d and we will prevail.
